This is an email that Eric said I could post for info on how he is doing.  It was sent on December 20th.  Get Well Soon Bud.
I had surgery on November 22 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  From what I understand I tore a ligament that held my clavicle in place so I choose to have the take a tendon out of my left leg to replace the ligament rather than put in hardware that would need to be removed at a later time.  I had to keep my arm in a sling for one month and after Christmas I will start rehab.  Jeff Kalo, my surgeon, say's it will be about three months before I can ride on my own again.  My first ride for 2009 will be the 100 mile MN Ironman with Adam Caughey and as of now I'm not sure if Rick or Nathan will plan on attending.
Two weeks ago Adam helped me set up my old Trek 2300 road bike on his trainer so I could ride when I can.  Last week however I strained the tendons in my left leg behind my knee and I don't know when I will be able to run or ride again in the near future.  Things are starting to look a little bleak but we all know I'm too stubborn and driven to let something like these two injuries from slowing me down in 09.  I will also be installing mechanical disc breaks on my mtb this year in hopes to learn how to control my bike better in the turns and in the down hills.
